Ashby Goldstein is pursuing a PhD in Music Education at The Ohio State University where he serves as a graduate teaching associate in the Music Education area. Previously, he taught middle and high school bands in the state of Florida for 15 years. Bands under his direction performed at the Western International Band Clinic, the FMEA Professional Development Conference, the University of Georgia’s Middle School Band Festival, the Music for All National Concert Band Music Festival and the NBA/CBDNA Southern Division Conference. Goldstein has been awarded two Citations of Excellence from the National Band Association and is a two-time “Teacher of the Year” at the middle school and high school levels. An active concert and marching band adjudicator, he has conducted honor bands in both Florida and Georgia. Goldstein holds a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in instrumental conducting from Southern Oregon University.
