Ensembles

Academic Year 2024–2025

The School of Music invites all university students to participate in its ensembles. Some ensembles have open enrollment (no audition required) and...

... you don't have to be a music major to be involved!

Concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands/combos, and choirs welcome musicians at every level of ability.

There are also a number of small chamber opportunities for vocalists, instrumentalists and composers.

The Ohio State Marching Band is open to brass and percussion musicians by audition; the athletic bands have open enrollment and welcome woodwind players.

Whether you are an experienced performer or a hobbyist, we have a group for you!

Did you know?

Most ensembles have variable credit hours between 0.5 and 2, which allows you to participate without exceeding 18 hours per semester.
