Learn more about our Opus 88 project

Ohio has 88 counties and a piano has 88 keys — what a musical inspiration!

Help us trek the state to sound each unique key, connect with Buckeyes, engage with communities, and share in the joy of music through each of Ohio's 88 counties.

We are looking for opportunities with your school music program, community center, place of worship, or civic organization. We hope to reach diverse audiences, in a variety of venues and formats across the state.

Examples of available opportunities

  • Coaching or clinic with one of our band, orchestral or choral conducting faculty
  • Master class, coaching or performance featuring our applied studio faculty
  • Ensemble performances by a woodwind quintet, string quartet, percussion ensemble, jazz combo, wind symphony, choral ensemble, etc.
  • "Majoring in Music" or "Careers in Music" presentation
  • Presentation on musicology research, music cognition, music and health benefits

To get started, please submit an Opus 88 event request form.

Please note that the Opus 88 project is for the purpose of education, alumni relations and community engagement. Do not submit requests of a personal nature such as music for a reception, wedding, party etc.

Scheduling priority will be given to counties that we have not yet visited (check the Opus 88 page). We cannot guarantee that a specific ensemble or opportunity will be available on your requested date, but we welcome all inquiries.
