Youth Celebration Concert Friday
On Friday, November 30 at 10 a.m. The Ohio State University School of Music will welcome over 2,200 Ohio students in grades 4-12 to the 20th Annual Music Celebration Youth Concert, the popular annual musical extravaganza celebrating the holiday season. This concert showcases the school's many performing groups from the OSU Symphony Orchestra to its Jazz Ensemble, Glee Clubs, Symphonic Band and much more, all in a non-stop collage setting.
Students will attend from both private and public schools in Bexley, Cedarville, Columbus, Dayton, Dublin, Gahanna, Granville, London, Mansfield, Marysville, Milford Center, New Albany, Old Fort, Pataskala, Powell, Richwood and Springfield. Many school groups return year after year; in addition, this year we have over five schools attending for the first time. Many teachers who bring their classes are Ohio State School of Music alumni. Some teachers request the program repertoire and create lessons around the various program selections, historical background, ensemble instrumentation and even concert attendance etiquette.
The public performance of the 20th Annual Music Celebration Concert will take place on November 30 at 8 p.m. Join us!
