Professor Concludes Service to Music Society

Lois Rosow, musicology, has completed her three-year term as President of the Society for Seventeenth-Century Music.  She just presided over her last annual conference in this role, a stellar affair hosted by the Department of Musical Instruments at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  In addition to three board meetings and an open business meeting, the conference included museum tours and a private concert by Julliard 415 (the name reflects the tuning of the instruments), led by Robert Mealy playing the Met’s 1693 Stradivari violin. As always, the centerpiece of the conference was an array of excellent scholarly papers by members of the Society.
