The documentary "Building the Dream," recounting the journey of an idea for a national monument honoring Martin Luther King Jr., was aired on WOSU TV Monday and Tuesday evenings, August 27 and 28, the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington.

Dr. Ted McDaniel, director of the Jazz Studies program at Ohio State, was the music consultant, supervisor, and arranger for this project. McDaniel is a specialist in African American music, jazz history, and jazz performance. He holds joint faculty appointments in the School of Music and in the Department of African American and African Studies.
