Fosler-Lussier publishes book, "Music in America's Cold War Diplomacy"
During the Cold War, thousands of musicians from the United States traveled the world under the sponsorship of the U.S. State Department. These concerts created subtle musical, social, and political relationships on a global scale. This book demonstrates that musical engagement turned individual musicians and audiences members into citizen-diplomats, changing their perspective and re-defining what citizenship meant in the Cold War world. Danielle Fosler-Lussier's book, Music in America's Cold War Diplomacy (University of California Press) has an official release date of May 1.
