Cook. University Chorus performs music of love and adoration, both near and far. Selected movements from Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs paint a vivid picture of young couple in love, and Emily Dickinson’s poem, The Moon is Distant from the Sea, likens the moon’s pull of the ocean to her heart’s affection for a far-off suitor. The concert begins with Charles Theodore Pachelbel’s Magnificat for double choir, joined by the Ohio State Chorale. Women’s Glee Club presents "Questions and Answers," a program exploring the profound and the personal. We begin with selections that pose questions to the divine, to the ordinary, and to one another — inviting reflection on life’s mysteries and complexities. The second portion features movements from Kim André Arneson’s Magnificat, which WGC is preparing for their spring performance at Ohio State, and at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York City in May. The program culminates in an expression of hope and resilience, as we turn to answers. Drawing strength from the bonds of community, family, and their own indomitable spirit, the performers embody the themes of perseverance and joy through song. This concert is free and open to the public.
