Phillip Day, who served as interim associate director of Marching and Athletic Bands for the 2015-2016 season, has been named associate director of Marching and Athletic Bands and assistant director of university bands, effective this August.

While he will focus on Marching and Athletic Bands, Day will have teaching, conducting and administrative responsibilities throughout the School of Music’s bands program. He joins the band faculty of Russel C. Mikkelson, director of university bands; Scott A. Jones, associate director of university bands; Christopher D. Hoch, associate director of university bands and director of Marching and Athletic Bands; Michael Smith, assistant director of Marching and Athletic Bands; and Mark Reynolds, percussion instructor for Marching and Athletic Bands.

Day earned his bachelor's degree from Capital University and his master's degree from Ohio State. He is a candidate for the doctor of musical arts degree at Ohio State and plans to complete his program this August. Read more.
